Old School Gaming?
« on: February 22, 2010, 12:56:21 AM »
I was wondering if anybody was interested in some old school DOS for this upcoming LAN party.

DosBox has build-in TCP/IP to IPX tunneling. I can setup per-configured Dosbox batch files and host a shared folder for the old games.

I was thinking doing some Doom classic, Heretic, Duke Nukem 3d, maybe Quake I.

With doom (at least) there are win32 apps for that that actually include tcp/ip network play functionality.  I believe there are also win32 apps for all of those except heretic.
That's Mr. Deception to you.

DOSBox has some NICE support for tunnelling IPX through TCP/IP LAN.

You can play classics like M.A.X. through it. ;)

A lot of these games are getting modern open source ports, usually with improved graphics and full multiplayer support. Try your hand at some of these:
