Cool Videos (only)
« on: May 24, 2008, 12:04:09 PM »
Have another place to put videos that aren't necessarily funny:

No clue why, but I always liked this commercial:

I would watch the vid, but I like to wait till I get to work to view all clips posted on internet forums.  It just feels wrong without that feeling of danger in the back of my mind, is it going to be a funny cartoon or some cam whore jamming something vulgar in some oraface*.

Having polished off several of these, it never pours like that from the start.  Very heady.

Kind of interesting. Saw that video while I was investigating this: Atari Founder is a moron...

Doesn't he realize that announcing that is a sure way to get hackers to crack it? :P Just use Steam, people!

I think that video was bad ass. Also, Don't you realize the trusted chip has been out for a while, just not really used? It's on a few obscure motherboards. (*cough* Apple Intel boards. *cough*)

I didn't know that before, but I learned that in my snooping around earlier.

TPM vid was pretty cool.  I played around with TPM (trusted platform module) into Dell Latitude laptops about 2 years ago.  The chip was being used by the software that controlled the built-in fingerprint reader.  It would store the encrypted data of your fingerprint in the chip.  You had to first enable the chip (from the BIOS) and then intiatize it with your own password.  Then the software (running in Windows) required your password before it could talk to the chip.

If you got into the bios and disabled the chip or otherwise did anything to it, the finger print reader would no longer accept any finger prints to login since it's trust with the chip was broken.

The bad thing is, for example, they could make it so that any songs you ripped are encrypted with a key based on the TPM chip in your computer.  No one else would be able to decrypt/play that music.  They already do that today, but the encrypted license key is stored in a file, not a hardware chip that is more or less locked to the PC.

That C130 video is awesome.  I know when playing through the COD4 Single player missions the C130 one was definately my favorite.  I tended to just use the mid sized gun and watch as the bodies flew through the air.

Yeah, I'm gonna play through the SP again just to get to that mission and make a new save at that point so I can play it over and over again.  Best mission in the game.
