Sorry to bust your bubble Jimmy Carter.  But the videos of the popcorn are fakes.  They dropped already cooked popcorn into the scene then digitally altered the video to remove the uncooked kernels.  Snopes as always has the truth.

One of the "upgrades" the new forum version gave us was the automatic HD version of YouTube videos (if available), so you should be seeing HD for this video without leaving the coziness of the forums.
