I will say that I enjoy sniping in this game. The maps feel pretty balanced to not make it a camp fest. If someone does decide to dig in, being able to completely take out buildings and trees is just pure awesome-sauce.

I really wish they could open it up to 64 player maps and have jets.

Anyway - what are yall's feelings about axing the kill cam?

I've never been a fan of the kill cam in any game. If I find a good sniping/hiding spot, I want to exploit the crap out of it..not use it once only to then get knifed by the turd I just fragged. :)

I noticed the kill cam kept coming back checked on the get for server options. I ran through a bunch of settings and finally had it where it was staying unchecked. At that point I didn't see anyone else on though.

Did anyone play after 9:30 pm est. yesterday? Can you confirm that kill cam is staying off?

No offense Broken, but we now have 3 admins for this server?  Who gave admin access to broken other than rcon access?

We NEED to make absolutely sure we have all of our server settings exactly the same on the BC Guardian or every time we log in it will change the settings.  Also, did someone change the password?  Tried to log in last night and it said password hash fail.

First - No clue about your connection but the password is still showing as the same.

Unless you aren't serious, I will gladly forget about access for the simple joy of not having to hear my name come up every mother Fudgeing time the server hiccups.

Connections and who gave me access.. the rcon is set at the app level which is what I have primarily used. Access to the app really is just who knows the right info which is the three of us and I only initially bothered with it when no one had theirs running and i needed to use an Rcon command. Unfortunately these utilities are buggy and its not really a stable connection to say hey I have it up on my machine running 24/7 so we are good.

Kowtow, but when you guys are on, I leave all that up to you. I only bothered looking at the kill cam setting as Agent said he tried but it was still up and on. To keep things in sync, I made sure to do another get on all the current settings so the only modification I made to whatever you guys had set last would have been to the kill cam.

You know that if there is going to be more then 1 admin, then its good to have a config posted to make sure everyone's settings are in sync. Especially since you are using a 3rd party app to handle the settings. No offense but why havent we already seen a post on the Fudgeing settings. All the posts about we need to keep them in sync and not one with the actual Fudgeing settings. I realize you said your having a connection issue atm. I would have posted them already, but like I said I was leaving most of that admin stuff up to you guys. (ok I hate language filters)

One time in the past I worked as an admin on KoS's CSS servers... well for a long time but we used beetlesmod on our stand alones and obviously BFBC2 is a different setup. If you dont want me to touch Crap that is fine, but yall need to keep it up so rcon commands work.

Um, anyway back to my original question, did anyone notice the kill cam being off?

ok now that all this is out in the open.  I say this:  Broken,Agent and decepticon please get togetherand go over what you guys expect of one another.  get a config list or file so nothing is left to assume and make sure you guys are all on the same page.  I rather like having 3 admins, that way theres a better chance that theres always someone available to go to for help.  You 3 are the logical choices due to ur experience and dedication to the game.  Lets work together to fix this asap!

I expect man love! wait no that was me channeling czar...

If you guys want to get together on all the configs we can meet up in TS tonight. I will be back from work some time after 5:30 or so and will hop on as soon as I get home. We can go over all the settings, where to keep it, and what unspeakable depraved acts i will need to perform to atone for my post.

First off... about the password, I noticed the same thing too. Although, when I logged in to the gameservers page, it wasn't changed. When I restarted the server, I was able to log into the rcon fine. Was simply a server bug.

Secondly... holy-fcking-bejesus... what's with the drama over server admin status? Silly topic to get riled up over. We have 3 admins in case, for some reasons, one or two of them aren't accountable. That's it.

And I agree, we do need to synchronize our rcon settings.

For cripes sake, calm down people.  I ask one Fudgeing question and it's as if I Fudgeed your sister or mother or.....you.  ;P I didn't mean to start drama...I just wanted to make sure that it was Dave setting him up...that's all.  I spoke with Dave this morning and he confirmed but I have been so busy at work that I couldn't edit my post until now.  No need to rage.  And yes, there should be a post on the staff forums about what settings we should all be on.

As far as the password was concerned, something must have changed serverside.  I went to the GS server page and changed the password to the same as before (the one we all know) and just saved it and that seemed to work.

I didnt hack the server... decepticon, you whispered the password to me during pillow talk or did you forget about us so quickly? JK o.O you re right, Dave set me up early on when I was out sick and on the server a ton and no one was around to help with map changes etc...
